MSN Internet Access (MSNIA)
Is a ripoff scam. MNS Contract MSN Internet = NO service, but they expect to be paid anyway

February I bought an HP computer from Office Depot. It came with a contract for MSN. I would have rather has AOL since they were my ISP, but was told that the MSN was already selected and calculated in the price.

I set up the computer and MSN installed, but I had multiple problems with it from day one. At first I thought there was a problem with the HP not being a pentium so I took it back and exchanged it for a different operating system. Still the same problems occured so I knew it was an ISP problem.

I could not get all of my internet email lists to accept mail. MSN mail server would send messages that they did not accept or send to Majordromo, and although I got mail from onelist.com, I was unable to send mail to those lists.

I began to receive SPAM and porno invites before I was even finished setting up the first day! The customer service rep told me that the information sheet I filled out (that I t hought was confidential) was actually posted out in the open for anyone to
get information off of.

I sent emails to tech support and customer service with details about the problems I was having which included information on my computer and operating system, what I had tried, messages I was getting back and so forth. Not once did I get an intelligent answer back.

For example, when I told them I could not connect on ICQ and their tech support told me it was my ISP's fire wall and I needed to get MSN's exact internet address in order to connect my ICQ since it was not due to a problem on ICQ's end, I sent an email to MSN with this exact information and request for their internet address.

After a few days I received a reply from tech support that said I needed to contact my Internet Service Provider! Apparently this idiot was unaware that the msn.com behind my email name meant MSN *was* my provider!

A call to customer service meant a wait on hold for 40 minutes before connecting to someone each and every time I phoned. I also tried to get things fixed through email even though it took about 3 days to get a reply if I got one at all. I made every effort to get this service working for 3 weeks. I got no help what so ever from anyone at MSN. Not one suggestion.

It is nearly impossible to find addresses, phone numbers or even a decent email address on the site. All they offer is the box to fill out and you have no idea where it goes becasue you cannot see the address. Most of the tech support boxes came back immediately with the message about trying to send an email later, the system is either down or busy. I continually got this message day and night for a week before I began sending tech information to other areas asking them to have tech support email me or phone me so that I could get the problems fixed. Nothing.

I cancelled the Internet account because according to the contract MSN Internet was suppose to provide me with a working internet service. They breeched the contract and failed to fix the problem despite my efforts to make it work.
