After being on vacation for 2 weeks, I returned and stayed up very late one night to forward and reply to emails received during the period I was away. A certain amount of emails were successfully sent. Soon after this, I started receiving a warning that my outgoing emails were refused by the service provider's server. Apparently, the volume of emails sent designated me as a spammer, of which I am certainly not!
After much frustration, I went to bed and called Time Warner the following morning. They informed me that I triggered the spam detector and the security features shut my account down. As a Real Estate agent who works out of the house and had several deals in motion, I knew it was imperative to get the situation rectified as soon as possible! I explained that I needed the security feature bypassed immediately and I am not a spammer. I explained the importance of my needs and the direct impact it could have on my business.
Time Warner didn't seem to care that their filter was directly impactiing my ability to do my job and said I'd have to wait 24 hours before I could use my email again. I stated that wasn't acceptable and they lied to me by saying it couldn't be changed. However, I have a friend who worked for them and said the security feature could in fact be bypassed or changed.
Time Warner doesn't care if they damage their paying customers and choose instead to lie to them. Unfortunately and as a result, they'll lose a customer for life over a matter that could have been easily rectified. While I hate the thought of switching to DSL, I don't want to pay a company full of liars!
