Ebay
BEWARE Ripoff bidding practices Internet

Beware!

What happened:

I had a max bid of $700 on an item. A person bid $700, but since my bid was the first entered, I was reported per Ebay rules as the high bidder.

With it being close I increased my max to $800.

Now the problem, as soon as I entered the new max, the Ebay system increased my bid to $710. Remember their rules, at $700 I was still the high bidder.in the event that no one else bid, the Ebay system would have cost me an additional $10.

I have contacted them and keep getting canned messages from them of how their bidding works. I understand fully of how it works. But, this situation should not be happening. Per their own rules, I was the high bidder at $700, and there was no need for an increase of my current bid. The only time my bid should be increased is WHEN AND IF I'm outbid, up to my max limit!

They seem to refuse to look at it from the consumers viewpoint and keep referring me back to their bidding guidelines.

Only reason I see why is for Ebay's own gain. They make their profits based on how much an item is sold for. Now think of the thousands of items that are sold, and how many might be having prices driven up by this sneaky pactice of Ebay!

I hope others will report this and perhaps some serious action can and will be taken agaist Ebay if they will not fix this problem and RIPOFF!
