I purchased a coffee table from Bargainland on ebay item #4437676938 which was advertised as: Assembly required. This is an un-assembled item, parts and/or hardware may be missing. Even though the box appears to be in good condition, we are not 100% certain that this item is in good condition.
The original box was damaged SO bad that they threw the broken table into a large JVC TV box to ship. There is NO way that the person who packed/shipped the table didn't see that the table was broken and unrepairable.
I sent Bargainland an e-mail explaining what had happened and they asked me to send pictures so I did.instead of sending me another table I was told to return the table and they would return my money minus the shipping and minus a $5.00 or 20% handling fee (whichever is higher). I paid $26.00 for the table plus $59.03 shipping for a total of $85.03. This would mean that out of the $85.03 I paid for the table I would only receive a $20.80 refund.
I believe this to be very unethical. Their shipping fees are exhorbinant... This is where they make their money. Even if you return an item to Bargainland and they give you a refund, they are making money. They only have a 89% customer satisfaction rate. I'm sure it would be lower if people would take the time to do feedback on ebay.
Bargainland should NOT be allowed to do business especially not on e-bay. They are giving e-bay a bad name.
