Spontanious, unfounded charges by a fraudulent ripoff business Internet

I received AOL free with my Gateway computer. The free term was for one year. I bought the computer in February and installed AOL soon thereafter. Upon installation, I called AOL to make sure I knew when the term ended so I would be aware when I should revisit the decision.

March 8 is the date I was quoted as the termination of my free trial period. I received a surprise $23.90 charge on my credit card in September -six months early.

I called AOL to ask the what in the hell they are thinking. The woman admitted that the March 8 date is correct. She negotiated for me to receive free service for another three months, with no pop-up window advertisements (because that was also my biggest complaint). I took it to see if they had ANY credibility.

They have still refused to credit me for their indiscriminate, incorrect billing. ("It's been too long" -as if there is a two month statute of limitation on stealing) I had to go to my credit card company and have the charges disputed, and they could not recoup all of the charges because they won't go farther than two months back either.

-I have not been billed for the past two months, but the no pop-up window promise has not been fulfilled.

This is a greedy, dishonest company! Give 'em a credit card number and they'll steal your money!
