Comcast ripoff is double billing me due to a rate increase - how many others are affected by this scam

ISSUE:
1) Billed in Nov at rate of 23.17 (total) for period of Nov 14-Dec13/05 PAID IN FULL ON TIME. No problem here.

2. DECEMBER BILL; INCLUDED DECEMBER BILLING FOR period of 12/14/05-to 1/13/06- at new rate 42.95 (I am OK
with this too)

3. Dec. Bill Included $40.09- (the prorated 42.95 Increased rate that went into effect on November 15th) THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES IN - THEY WILL NOT DEDUCT THE $23.17 that I already paid for these dates the prior month (at the old rate).

Billing me at the prorated amount for Nov 15-Dec 13, is FINE, but in order to NOT be double billing me, THEN THEY MUST DEDUCT WHAT I ALREADY PAID FOR THOSE DATES at the OLD RATE ($23.17). NO ONE seems to comprehend that is what they need to do. Its basic accounting or math. This all could have been avoided if they did the Nov bill correctly in the first place, since after all, there was only one day (nov 14) left at the old rate, and the rest of the month had the new rate (Nov 15-Dec 14). THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THEY MIGHT HAVE QUITE A RACKET GOING ON - people who do not have the accounting or math background I do will be taken advantage of because CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SO THICKHEADED and thinking COMCAST wouldn't couldn't make a mistake, NO the customer is usually wrong, but the computers are ALWAYS right. Well, it does not take a rocket scientist to know that computers are programmed by human beings and they DO make mistakes& or IS THIS A MISTAKE???

Three months later they are still trying to get this money. The most frustrating part is that no one in customer service understands this concept

I have given up with the lack of intelligence at customer service - and WOULD LIKE A RESPONSE TO THE LETTER I MAILED A FEW WEEKS AGO.

I REALLY LIKE COMCAST HIGH SPEED INTERNET< BUT IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO RESOLVE THIS QUICKLY I WILL BE FORCED TO USE ANOTHER SERVICE. My time is too precious to waste any more time trying to explain this to a customer service rep. BUT, I am NOT going to PAY WHAT I DO NOT OWE, even if that means I ahve to change internet companies.
