Worst customer service ever ripoff

I ordered a Dell computer and paid with a check. There were no problems with the payment and the check was cashed without incident. After the check cashed, I chcked to see when the computer would be shipped and where it was in production. I noticed that the computer was not configured as I had ordered and thus began my Dell problems! The company did not want to change my order to what I originally PAID FOR IN FULL because it "was already in production".

I infomred them that the computer I want is the one they already accepted payment for and it was not what the were building. I was told I had to go through some special department because I paid with a check. That deparment informed me that it was not their job to handle this situation. I can't even remember how many different people I spoke with but each person sent me to som one else who could noy handle their screw-up.

Their only consistent response was to try to get me to accept the order that they were building which did not include the upgrades etc I wanted and already paid for! The amount of time I spent on the phone with them was enormous and rarely productive.

I finally ended up contacting corporate offices and ended up hearing from their "Executive Support" department. This department was as useless as any other. Again, they tried to get me to accept what they wanted to build for me. I had told numerous people that I did not want that system and to cancel it. They never cancelled it and one day it was delivered to my home.

This brought on another set of problems because it had to be returned etc. Even though it was not the product I ordered, they refused to refund my money until they received the system back at their warehouse. Also, they informed me that "legally, we have up to 60 days to refund your money". How about legally, you have to provide the product that th ecustomer ordered?

I then received a check that was short about $400. I followed up and got the usual runaround and was again told the legal crap but the check would be sent the next day. When I got the check it was for $7.00 which was short about $390. Again the same runaround excuses and constant phone transfers to the wrong people. I would never buy anything from this company.

I also know 3 people who ordered from Dell and when the product showed up it was the wrong system in 2 cases and in the other, the people ordered 3 computers but 6 were delivered and they were illegally charged for six! In all 3 of these cases, Dell told the people that it would be a big hassle for the customer to return the computers but if they could sell them for Dell, they would get a $100 discount on their original order. I cannot believe this company!

I encourage people to go right to the top because I think that is the only way I eventually got my money. I would say the only way I was able to get my money back was to contact these people several times a day by email and phone because otherwise they would not respond for close to a week at a time. Don't buy anything from this awful company!!
