When I got onto my computer today, a big pop-up screen came onto it. It said my free trial was over, and that I had two options to pay. The first problem is I never installed this program, there are other computer users in the household, but I did not install it.
The second problem is I didn't even know it was on my computer until the pop up appeared. It gave me two payment choices. A month for $19.95 or a year for $99.95. But no choice to cancel if I wanted to. The pop up stated that I am legally liable for paying either for a month or a year.
First of all, if it was a so-called 3 day trial, why should I be obligated to pay? They record your IP address, but most home PCs have more than one user. What if the person who installed it was under 18? Minors usually don't have the authority to make a purchase of that sort anyway.
I am going to take my chances and not pay. Let them come after me in court for $20.00. I would be willing to be there are more people than just me dealing with this scam.
