I have had very bad experiences dealing with Computer Books Direct. They are a member of the parent company BookSpan (www.bookspan.com) Their communication with customers is horrendous. Even while you are actively communicating with them or disputing a charge they will place your account with collections.

Thier website email bounces back as undelieverable. They list no phone numbers on their web site or correspondence. FYI, you can call them at 212-651-7400 and ask for "Computer Books Direct Customer Service" and they will transfer you (a couple of times, but stick with it.) Bonus purchases (ie; the only books cheaper than you can purchase a full price!) do not count toward your contact.

According to the club, the average price of a book is $43.36 - which is what you will owe per book remaining at the end of your contract. (Which they don't mention in their contract.) EXTREMELY frustrating company to deal with. VERY poor communication with customers. They're prices aren't that good anyway and you can find the same books cheaper online, so save yourself the trouble and DON'T JOIN THIS CLUB.
