Stay away from DSL Extrem

Was charged for a service they never delivered. An mesasge sent them asking for anexplanation ended with no response. DSL EXtreme refused to provide any evidence or explanation for the service, even I told them I am not asking for a refund, just some information about the service i am charged for.

The charge on the billing statement is for so called "dispatch" service. DSL EXtreme said they sent a technician to my home and fixed my phone line inside. The fact is, after we signed up for 12-month service, I found the internet speed was about 0.15 mbs, far below the service promised. I called them, and was told my phoneline is the cause. So we contacted AT&T, and the technician from AT&T checked outside phone box and found no problem. I contacted the DSL EXtreme again. This time they said the probelm could be inside the house. Because they are going to charge me for the inside work for unknown hours (they could not tell how long it takes), I refused to let them check, and believed the problem could not be easily solved, so we switched to Camcost cable. But as they asked me to pay the penalty for the contract cancellation, we continued to pay the regular monthly fee to DSL Extreme. Several months later they said they needed to cancel my account and asked me to pay the monthly charges for the left of the contract. Even it was DSL EXtreme cancelled the service, I still paid the charge asked. But on my final billing statment, from no where there is a $60 charge for the inside phoneline repair. How rdiculous it is! If they really did the work, we would not have to switch and pay the fee for months without any service from DSL EXtreme. We still do not how they managed to get into my house and did the work without our awareness.

I sent emails to ask for an explanation, but got no answer for it. To avoid the damage to my credit history, I paid all the charge, but when I asked them at give me some information about that mystious charge, they refused to talk to me anylonger because I already paid the charge and the account closed.

What a nightmare with this company!
