I have had Advance System optimizer software on my computer for over a year. I have noticed that It was not working correctly so I called the Systweak Support (Parent Company). I was transfered to an Indian lady who said she had to work on my computer remotely. I allowed it as my internet server had just remotely worked on my computer. I was dumb and trusting. The rep / lady kept saying SOOO Slow, Oh bad problems just kept saying things like that. Then she infomed me that 3 other people were using my connections and suggested these could be family members. One place was in Flordia, one in Kentucky and she never said where the 3rd site was. She also told me they were just about to completely take over my computer and get into my banking and personal info. (Since I have a diabled husband which I care for and live off disablilty, I knew there was little funds to get excited about). However, it did really frighten me. During all of this time, over an hour, she keeps saying not to worry that they will fix the problems. But then after all this time has gone by she says it will cost 695.00 to fix the problems that it is urgent that I act right now to save my computer from complete take over. I told her that we did not have this kind of money however she kept really pushing and lowering the amount, then saying "this is the final offer" after several attempts to get me to fork over money the amount was lowered to 95.00 which would cover 6 months of computer protection.
Since I never agreed to pay the money my computer which was working fine before the call now did not work. I called Frontier who is my DSL provider. They had the most advanced techs on it for over 3 days. However the windows portion was damaged. As soon as they fix the problems they reappear. Now I am without the use of my computer which has many family photo's and genealogy documents on it. I can't even download the info on a cruzer as the ports aren't working now.
Systweak is offering to refund my annual fee of 39.95. Wow won't that just fix things nicely.
Bad company don't do anywhere them. They claim to be Microsoft Gold Partners. If so Microsoft needs to do some homework.
