New York at home paternity testing requires authorization (authorizing agents may be a doctor or lawyer or judge), and the collection process must be witnessed by a disinterested third-party (the collector). This collection process is the same one used for court-admissible paternity testing in other states.
GTLDNA does not comply. They processed a DNA report for my ex-boyfriend. I pretending to be unaware of the legislation and sent a email to their information department.
I received a response from Stefan A Lang, Executive Director confirming this legislation.
Despite this, GTLDNA sold an information only kit to my ex-boyfriend and processed a paternity test, in August. If they are willing to circumvent the law I wonder what other short cuts they are willing to take.
