On 2/7/07 my beloved mother in law was raped and choked by a male resident at Farmington. This heinous crime went unreported by the Farmington administrator / upper management staff. It wasn't until her aide Louis obtained our phone number in CA days later and secretly called us that we were made aware of this attack. Mom had been crying since the attack. Upon being noticed by Louis we immediately called the Medford Police from CA and asked for a full investigation. We went up there the following day.
It was first reported on 2/10 to Officer Venables. On 2/27 the police met with Charley Buckalew the Medford Farmington Square administrator, what Ms. Buckalew told the investigator that took the report was shocking a direct quote from police report # 07-2526 will follow. The case number that was dated 2/27/07 and investigated by Detective Diane Sandler. Detective Sandler wrote: "I was able to meet with the administrator of Farmington Square, Charley Buckalew. Buckalew advised me that Ursula is very outgoing and flirtatious. Buckalew told me that while Ursula was flirting with one male resident, another male resident became jealous and put his hands around her neck and shook her".
Buckalew lied and claimed that mom was not injured, but when we saw moms' neck it was purple. Mom was always a lady and had been a banker for Wells Fargo her entire adult life. There is absolutely NO indication ever that mom behaved in the manner that Buckalew is alleging, Alzheimer's or not! How dare Buckalew make such an offensive statement. Buckalew actually blames the victim not the perpetrator. Buckalew also does not assume ANY responsibility for this attack on mom, instead she calls mom flirtatious. For $6,000 a month it is Farmington's responsibility to monitor the patients, send them to ER when thet are raped, regardless of their age and NOT drug them on anti-psychotics immediately after.
How could Buckalew (especially as a woman herself) possible make such a heinous and offensive statement like that! Mom was raped, the perpetrator was immediately taken to 2 North the local psych ward, after the sexual attack. How dare Buckalew and Farmington say that mom was flirtatious and imply that mom had it coming. Mom should have gone immediately to the ER for a rape evaluation the moment that this happened. She was denied that right.
Detective Sandler left the case open. Immediately after Detective Sandler left Farmington square, the very next day Farmington began administering massive doses of anti-psychotic drugs to shut mom up and confuse her. Mom had been diagnosed with mild Alzheimer's when she was admitted on 9/3. I have her medical records and would be happy to email the proof of the gross over-medication to anyone disputing this statement.
Due to the gross overmedication mom ended up spending the rest of her life in a wheelchair with an alarm on it. After that incident mom was also forced to have to wear "Depends" or generic adult diapers due to the gross overmedication. After that Mom then began overdosing on the anti-psychotic meds that were being prescribed. Mom overdosed eight times that we are aware of,
Each time mom overdosed she had to be rushed to the hospital where the atttending ER doctor finally demanded that her meds be reduced. She passed 1/29/10.
You may wonder why we couldn't stop this gross overmedication, it is because we were denied access to her medical records after this incident. When we were able to finally get a local fiduciary for mom, the situation exacerbated.
The fiduciary that we hired was Cindy Hoeper of Eldercare Management became the worst, most evil fiduciary that one would encounter. Mom's case # in the Medford Court is/was 06-683-G8, when you read what Hoeper did to mom, it is shocking. Hoeper and her minions helped steal about $800,000 to one million dollars of moms' assets.
It seems that Cindy Hoeper had 10 other clients at that Medford Oregon Farmington Facility and so she did everything that she could to protect Farmington as well as her (Hoeper's) cushy income from those poor, helpless unsuspecting seniors. The average monthly fee for Farmington is about $6,000 per month. Hoeper's fee was $75.00 an hour and she had 10 victims there at the time mom was there. At the time that mom was there they did not accept MediCal and had Hoeper and her minions not stripped mom of all of her resources mom might of had a chance of living out the rest of her life without being drugged and ultimately euthanized.
