I am a former employee of Famous Hair store #61164 in Fuquay-Varina, NC who was fired due to a situation that was not my fault. I was working on an elderly client doing highlights and when it was time to shampoo the clients hair the client refused.
After the bleach had been on the clients hair for the maximum amount of time I asked the client to go to the shampoo bowl she said no and that she wanted to sit longer (Which was an hour and a half longer). After she finally let me shampoo her out almost 2 hours later her hair was not like she wanted. I told her since she was not happy I would call my manager and let me know what happened.
Not even a minute after the client left I called my manager and told her what product I used, what had happened, and the the client had refused to be shampooed out several times and that there were witnesses that could state she was refussing to cooperate with me.
My manager then told me to write down on a client card the ladies name, the type of service, the date and time, along with the product I used, what had happened, and that she was refussing to have her hair shampooed and sign it along with all witnesses and that I would not get into trouble if the lady called corporate on me.
I did exactly what my manager had asked and placed it on her station with a sticky note that said attn:*. The very next day I was working alone from 10-4 and the corporate manager came into to talk to me and tell me how much of a good job I have been doing and congratulating me for bringing clientle into the salon and she even watched me do several colors/highlights and was telling me how great they were and hearing the clients telling me how happy they were with their hair and NOT one time did any of the clients complain about their hair that day. The following friday I had the day off.
That Saturday though I had been asked previously a few weeks before to work for my then manager so she could do her neices hair for prom. I came into work to be told that I had to sign a paper stating "I did not follow the clients request, manufacturer's directions, and was asked previously by the manager to NOT use the product I used." (This was all a lie) And that I was being fired.
I followed the manufacturer's directions step for step, I also repeated what the client was requesting back to her several times to make sure she was getting what she requested and was happy, I also was NEVER told by my manager to NOT use the product I had used.
Before this situation occurred though me and the other employee I worked with (There were only 2 stylists me and an older lady and the manager working the salon) noticed our manager doing things she shouldn't have been doing. Such as editing her time to have it show as if she had worked on days that she never did, taking money from the drawer to use for lunch, and taking services from us by acting as if she were doing redo's so that she could go into commission.
Me and the other employee brought these situations up the corporate manager together one day while our manager was not working, but the corporate manager told us "There is no way that the manager could do such things." even though we had proof from our time slips being different from the time clocked in the computer for us working, on the sales review report on the computer it would show where the manager had over a $100 in redo credits that were took from our services.
Needless to say the manager got away with stealing from the company and I got the boot for something I couldn't control!!! I would like to say for anyone looking to work for this salon to NOT do so and do your research on the Regis Corporation first, I wish I would have before working there because there are a lot of complaints against the company online.
