In July I made a appointment for a consultation with Dr. Mackenzie for breast augmentation. After seeing several commercials on tv for the Quick V surgery. My consultation consisted of sitting in the busy waiting room for 20 minutes, then brought into a private office to watch a video for 20 minuts, and then I was seen by Dr. Mackenzie for about two minutes and she left. A nurse came in with the price and I asked if I paid cash could I get a discount to which the reply was no. This should have been my first inclination to run away.
In late February I decided to have my surgery. I elected Dr. Mackenzie because I felt she was a woman and could understand my needs. Also she was the only one who could get me in quicker. My first pick was booked till April. Mistake #2 I should have waited.
The secretary for Dr. Mackenzie told me she could book me for the beginning of March I told her I had to check my schedule but was pretty sure I would take it. I then called back about 30 times in a one week period to schedule but got her answering machine, and no return call back. Finally I called the main phone number and got the scheduler on the phone. The day she told me was booked, but she could fit me in the next week, she would have to cancel two other patients appointments. This was about 6 days from surgery date. Mistake #3 After the numerous calls not returned I should have ran
I was then booked two appointments, one for an exam and one pre op.
My first appointment the next day, I was brought into a examining room and give three bags of implants and told to pick a size? This is after they received my 5700.00 cash. I sat there confused, I told this to the nurse who then brought in a Nurse Practioner. She then talked about her 400cc implants the whole time. Still I was at a loss. Nothing about cc's nothing about high profile versus mod plus. Nothing about saline versus silicone. Dr. Mackenzie popped her head in and asked if everything was alright and I told her no, I was confused on the size. She stated we will figure it out on the day of surgery. Mistake #4 I should have really ran fast out of there
Second appt. Was the same. More questions no answers. I will say the office management is rude. Dr. Mackenzie operated out of an office for a ear nose and throat doctor. As the main physician is on a restricted license due to malpractice. Mistake #5
My surgery went well. Much better than I expected. When I awoke though I was upset at my breast size. Dr. Mackenzie decided on 375cc. They were small, I should have went with 450-500cc.
My post op appointment was a little confusing. I was seen by the NP and not shown how to massage the breasts. She seemed afraid to even touch me.
Second appointment I was told all was well to take the strap off my bra, and keep massaging.
Third appointment I was told again all is well the pain will go away and the NP was fired, a new NP saw me.
Fourth appointment Dr. M finally saw me, and was very concerned. My right breast was not dropping and I was having pain in it. She demanded to know who told me to remove the strap from my surgical bra. She stated they would order me a new one, and call me to pick it up which is keep in mind 35 miles away. Mistake #6. As no one called me even after two phone calls.
My fifth appointment I sat in the examining room and over heard a male and a female talking. "She doesn't know, you break the news to her" the female stated.
Dr. Halliday then entered the room with another nurse. I was then informed Dr. Mackenzie is no longer in the office, she left to get married and is not coming back. I was instantly upset. I had been in severe pain for weeks, I expected my physician to be with me for at least a year or more.
I made all my complaints as they piled up as Dr. Halliday was Dr. Mackenzies boss. I was examined by the ear, nose, and throat doctor and told everything was fine and given my strap finally.
More pain, numbness running from my side down my arm making my fingers numb. I could not work, I could not sleep. This is 10 weeks post op. I was miserable.
I seen Dr. Halliday again and made my complaints again. His threw his hands up in the air, stated a new plastic surgeon was coming in October which was several months away. I would have to wait.
I spent my entire summer in pain. I am still in pain. I have seen the new plastic surgeon and still I am in pain.
Dr. Mackenzie abandoned me. She took my 5700.00 and ran. There was a dispute in the office and when my surgery was booked she already had plans of leaving, which left me no proper medical care. No letter from her stating she was leaving, no inclination she was leaving or left. It had nothing to due with her getting married.
Total rip off. I know have to spend another 6k to fix her mess. I hope she rots in h*l.
