After repeated phone calls and e-mails, it is pretty evident that CustomBuilt Personal Training has a purposely inefficient system for canceling contracts.
Sent a certified (return receipt requested, thankfully) letter to their corporate headquarters per their instructions for cancellation. Somehow they have no record of it. Convenient for them.
The return receipt was signed but not dated. Also convenient for them. But luckily the USPS web site has tracking that shows the exact date and time it was signed for.
After being on hold for over 42 minutes with customer service the last time, I left a message. Three days later they returned my call and told me they had no record o any of my attempts to cancel the contract but if I could give them the receipt number they would look into it.
Luckily, Amex is backing up my dispute of the charges as CustomBuilt has yet to furnish any proof off validity of their charges.
This has been going on for well over two months. Judging by their high pressure sales techniques and many derogitory comments across the web, this is less than an ethical enterprise.
