Cigna Healthcare of Mass
Lie, they don't care, They just want your money

I am filing a complaint with Cigna Healthcare of Massachusetts, for the following reasons:
Reason 1:
On July 15 I called Cigna and spoke to Lisa. I didnt have access to a computer to view my benefits. I asked the following question.
Question: I am getting and MRI and an epidural shot. Would there be any out of pocket expenses?
Answerer from Lisa: No.
I wouldnt have these procedures done if I knew my bills were going to cost me $1,300.00. I was mislead by Cigna. I feel that I shouldnt owe $1,300.00 because Lisa told me there would be no out of pocket expenses. If you check my phone log and read my comments you will notice how the employees at Cigna told me that the claims would be fixed ASAP. I feel that Cigna is practicing bad faith. Verbal information is just as effective as written. The numerous times I called and spoke to different representatives they all insured me that the claims department would fix these miss coded problems. I asked for a confirmation e-mail. They refused and told me a claim number would be fine. Well, claim numbers didnt resolve any of my problems just caused more issues and complications. I asked to speak to a manager. After, they would hesitated or leave me on the hold for a long period of time and then I would get disconnected. They never even called me back once.
Reason 2:
On September 24 I called Cigna to make sure Dr. Was in network and they ensured me he is. Dr. Is the only one in my area who specializes in Active Release Techniques = Soft Tissue Management System. Now, I have to fight for Cigna to pay the bills. Cigna wasnt paying any of the claims. The first date of services was 8/25/10 after fighting with the Cigna they finally paid the claims on October 20. The total claims that were outstanding were $630.00. I spent long hours on the phone with Cigna and never got any answers. The employees all confirmed he was in network. After this situation I made sure to provide myself with proof that states he is in-network. When I called Cigna and spoke to Wanda to make sure he was still in - network. Wanda said yes and then she tells me to wait a second he is no longer in network. How can someone change from networks within minutes? These treatments are very important for my back injury which occurred back in April. I have two bulging disks and told that to Cigna and they dont care. I already missed 2 therapy sessions thanks to Cigna which are setting me back. I havent yet got one call from Cigna to inform me who is in-network that specializes in A.R.T. An employee even explained to me over the phone on how to get on to the website. The site even showed Dr. Is in network.
