I visited Lynne Shaklan Brown and Rejuvalift in Glendale on two occasions. First to get an initial Botox injection at a reduced rate. I don't have any evidence that the Botox was fake, but I am curious how Rejuvalift can charge $7/unit when the wholesale cost for real Botox exceeds that, at least according to the University of Minnesota Ophthalmology Department http://bit. Something smells of a scam. It's not like fake Botox is unheard of. Just Google it! Consider the Houston doctor who was sentenced in April to 5 years in prison for administering fake BOTOX.
After a few weeks of absolutely no results, I returned to Rejuvalift and received a second dose of Botox. Lynne inquired whether I had recently been on antibiotics (I had not), and stated that antibiotics can cause Botox not to "take".
Three weeks after the second full dose of Botox and still no results - I am out about $150 or so for NOTHING! I guess the mantra of "you get what you pay for" is accurate in this case.
In retrospect I should have never visited a Med Spa for needles/injections without a licensed M.D. On staff (to my knowledge, Lynne Shaklan Brown owns and runs Rejuvalift). They state that they have a "medical director" on staff, whatever that means. Next time, I'm going to any of the hundreds of ENTs, family doctors, and ObGyns around the valley that are offering legitimate BOTOX to enhance their revenue stream. At least I can be *more* confident that the needle going into my head doesn't contain black market BOTOX.
