Sold me a disposable partial denture for $1260.00

To Whom It May Concern;

I feel that Dr. Hunsaker's inability to adhere to the Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct as set by the ADA has caused him to fail to meet the most fundamental of obligations as a dentist in several areas. He has dismissed any and all concerns/problems from the beginning, that I've had with the discomfort, and ill-fit of the partial denture I've been sold. I've had to have it repaired three times during the four and a half months I've had it, three different times teeth have fallen out of the denture, and it never has fit right. But it was the way he treated me during the last visit for the third repair that goes way beyond lack of service, he was extremely loud, rude, and completely unprofessional.

When the first tooth popped out, I assumed it was probably just part of the normal process you go through with a new partial denture. My bottom teeth had worn one of the teeth on the denture down quite a bit, so I figured that might have been what caused the tooth to come out. The assistant jokingly asked me if I had been eating beef jerky to cause the tooth to come out. I explained both to her and Dr. Hunsaker that there was no way I could eat jerky, or anything else for that matter, with it since I had gotten it, due to the fact that it wouldn't remain in place, but would pop out into my mouthful of food, making eating with it impossible. They acted as though that was a normal thing.

I had thought that one of the main reasons for having a denture was to chew your food. That is, until Dr. Hunsaker assured me otherwise. I also during that first visit, after getting the denture told them it wasn't comfortable, that the two teeth where the clasps went hurt, like the clasps were too tight, and causing too much pressure around the teeth. His response was that it was a foreign object in my mouth, and it wasn't supposed to be comfortable.

This last time the office called and told me that it was ready and would be at the front desk for me to pick up. After picking it up, I went home, cleaned it, and was wondering whose teeth I had when I tried to put it in, only the right side would hook, and it wouldn't stay in AT ALL. So I went to work without it and called the next morning to make an appointment to have the dentist look at and fix the problem. When I was in his office, Dr. Hunsaker fiddled around with it for a bit, and then all of the sudden, became very loud, and started accusing me of getting out the pliers, and operating on it myself, or stepping on it. I was floored!

I couldn't believe the things I was hearing, or the level I was having to hear them at. He was yelling at me! Said I was blaming him for my bad oral hygiene! Ranting that it had been bent and he couldn't fix it. I would have to buy another one, and that he would rather I just find another dentist. I did no such thing to this denture, I may have dropped it on the linoleum floor, before it had the tooth replaced, but not after. The partial denture was dropped off at his office, so he must have inspected it before he sent it to the lab.

The fact that a denture needs to be properly installed and fitted to prevent further bone loss makes me seriously question his concern for my oral health, or his abilities to be a dentist at all. Also adding to this concern is the fact that there was never an evaluation or treatment plan discussed regarding the health of my remaining teeth, there are probably cavities, and I know I have a broken tooth, but that has never been mentioned by my dentist, as if it doesn't show up on the xrays, or he would rather it just rot away so he could sell another fake one.

I certainly don't appreciate Dr. Hunsakers accusations, the way he treated me, or the fact that less than five months into this I am sitting here without my four front teeth, which were not rotten, or even loose, but had to be pulled, (or so I was told) as there was no bone left to hold them in, and a disposable denture is what I was sold.

I strongly suggest that Dr. Erramouspe collects the remaining balance from Dr. Hunsaker, and give Dr. Hunsaker a few tips on customer service while you are at it, but I cannot justify paying another cent for this expensive, awful stomach wrenching experience I've had, or the disposable denture I was sold.
