My mom and I were fooled by Richard Ellenbogen's website and TV appearances. We thought he was considered a good doctor, so we consulted with him for rhinoplasty.
Richard Ellenbogen and his partner Babak Dadvand told my mom she needed a face lift, lip augmentation and fat injections to her face in addition to a nose job; all she wanted was a nose job to make her nose a little narrower.
Yet, she was very vunerable and believed their suggestions (she had just gotten a divorace from my dad, and wanted to do something to feel more attractive).
Both my mom and me were going through a pretty tough time; I was having relationship problems and she just had a failed marriage. So, we decided that maybe getting a little, subtle cosmetic surgery would help us to feel better.
We had seen the show "Dr. 90210, " and we did not know that plastic surgery could turn out to be such a nightmare that would completely ruin our faces. We had no idea that Richard Ellenbogen is considered the absolute worst doctor in the world.
Ellenbogen told me that in addition to rhinoplasty, I needed a chin implant and I needed to loose 35 pounds (even though I was already a size 2). Well, I, too was vunerable, and thought he was the expert. All I really wanted was a bump shaved from my nose, but he convinced me that I needed more...
My mom and I had surgery on the same day, and both of us came out with our noses chopped off to almost nothing but two holes. My mom's eyes and face are also completely messed up. The chin implant Ellenbogen did on me was inserted improperly. He cut up the muscles from my bottom lip and chin, and my lip falls to the bottom of my chin. Ellenbogen also infected my mom and me and we both needed long term strong IV medication so that we would not die from the infections.
My mom and I have consulted with many reconstructive surgeons who told us that Richard Ellenbogen is a Psychopath who has been mutilating and deforming people for over 25 years. They also told us that it's up to us, the patients, to report him as doctors do not report each other. My mom and I both filed medical complaints against him, but nothing has happened to him. I think the California Medical boards are being paid off by Richard Ellenbogen.
I met another lady who was left with her nose chopped off while consulting with a reconstructive surgeon. She told me she knows over 40 others who she's met while on consults or in chat rooms for people looking for reconstructive surgery.
