Royal Oak Beaumont Hosptial Covers Up Patient Confidentiality Violations By it's Employees

I think anyone considering Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital for their medical cares should keep some of the following information in mind.

Due to their lack of attention in matters of security, I have found myself forced to post the following literature on the internet. And I can assure you, I wouldn't be doing if I didn't have the proper documentation to support my allegations. I have also contacted HIPPA with additional items of concern that I haven't addressed within this email.

The following letter is one that I addressed to the individual in charge of public relations for Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.

This letter is to inform you that an employee, hereby referred to as Lisa Markowicz Huddleston, has in fact, committed several acts as an invasion of privacy, on several occasions from your facility, including usage of Royal Oak Beaumont computers to hack into email accounts, bank accounts, cell phone accounts and medical records, most recently this past week on Saturday, April 25th between the hours of 10:30 AM and 2:30PM.

Due to your lack of follow-up, I was forced to hire my own private investigator and was able to confirm my suspicions. I am presently seeking an attorney as well to pursue these violations and seek compensatory damages. Your offices, will be hearing from my attorney once our complete file and documents have been drawn up. When an IP address and a police report are provided to your department and this doesn't even prompt a return phone call, I believe this demonstrates complete and utter disregard within your department and institution.

Prior to hiring a private investigator, I had an 18 year old youth with nothing more than a high school education, find out what your department has been 'unable' to accomplish despite repeated reports and allegations, meanwhile representing a professional institution, William Beaumont Hospital. I believe that this demonstrates incompetency on the part of your department and this will be the basis of my litigations. Since I now have proper documentation, to substantiate my allegations, and therefore, cannot be sued for libel, I will be posting my reports on usacomplaints.com in reference to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital in it's entirety on Monday, May 5th.included within this report will be the highly publicized 1997 Detroit Red Wing Vladimir Konstantinov Limo accident in which patient information was anonymously and illegally leaked to the Detroit News and Free Press on that occasion as well. I believe your employee files will confirm this, unless it somehow gets lost'.in which case, I have witness accounts to support these allegations as well.

On April 25th my personal computer was hacked into which violates the most basic Internet Privacy Acts. Within that violation, email accounts, bank accounts and miscellaneous utility accounts were accessed using illegal methods, not to mention from a Beaumont computer. On March 31st, I also have personal witnesses of how my mother's patient records file from Troy Beaumont were also comprised, violating the most basic patient HIPAA laws.

Individual as well as patient privacy concerns should be taken with utmost seriousness. Unfortunately, your department and your institution has failed it's duty.incidentally, Ms. Stimmell, I am more than willing to be a man of reason but thus far, I haven't found anyone that is cabable of doing their job at Beaumont. I would love for you to prove me wrong.

End

That was my letter that was addressed to Colette Stimmel, public relations director of Royal Oak Beaumont hospital. The employee named is that of my ex-wife so clearly there was some malice for that reason alone. But I just think it's fair to let alone know, where there might be an expectation of privacy you can forget it. I happen to know that employees at Royal Oak Beaumont can access your personal records at any time. I also happen to know that the IT department at Royal Oak Beaumont loves to not only participate in but essentially teach employees how to hack into your personal medical records. I've seen RO Beaumont IT department committ these acts of fraud for any thing such as sexual favors to money to just a good laugh. If you have a private phone number or you don't want someone to know where you live, then don't go to Beaumont hospitals.

Think about it. You have an insititution that employees thousands of people and those thousands of people know thousands of people.in addtion to that, how many of us have been to a hospital at some point in our lives. And when you go to a hospital, you must provide your identification, insurance card, sometimes even a credit card.

When the Detroit Red Wings Limo accident occurred back in 1997, it wasn't like that news was going to be kept secret just simply because of the media. Nevertheless, the individuals of the Detroit Red Wings as well as their families should have been able to have their privacy respected at least to some degree. Here they had just won the Stanly Cup, suffered a tragic accident, and you've got an employee (s) more concerned with what they can sell to the local newpapers. Not to mention, everyone in that hospital knew where those players and trainers LIVED.

We all know there's not a lot that we can do about the media but when it comes to the hospital, I think your privacy should be guarded with utmost importance. Throw in the fact that a simple gall bladder operation might cost $80,000 but not are you just paying for the doctors' fees, or the after care, the nurses, the medicine but for someone with nothing better to do than sitting there on your 'dime' if you will and hack into your personal records.

Or let me give you this scenario, an elderly man is in the hospital suffering from something that could possibly end his life; whether it be cancer or a heart attack. His wife is in the room with him around the clock holding his hand the entire day. Meanwhile, an employee gets the bright idea to look up their address, social security numbers and whatever else and rob their house. The husband passes away and when the widower returns home, she finds out she has been robbed.

Lisa Markowicz Huddleston was written up for her offense back in 1997 and she did receive something like a 3 day suspension. But I can guarantee you, if were to subpoena for those records, they somehow don't exist. People can sue hospitals for a lots of money so you would be surprised what gets swept under the carpet.

I just want anyone that must go to a hospital to remember this information. Don't trust anyone.
