After reading the FDA recall warning about Hydroxycut, I contacted the GNC store in Monrovia, CA to inquire about their refund policy. I explained to them that I did not have the receipt but that I could produce a bank statement to show the amount paid. I was told no receipt or statement would be necessary for the refund.
I paid $64.64 for the product but GNC only offered a $27.43 refund.
The following statement is from the FDA recall statement:
"Consumers who have any of the products involved in the recall are advised to stop using them and to return them to the place of purchase".
(http://www.fda. Gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/NEW02006.html)
... And this is from the Hydroxycut FAQ website:
What if I want to return my Hydroxycut product. How do I do that?
For product refunds, consumers are directed to return their product directly to the place of purchase.

GNC is ignoring the recall notice and making their own rules!
