Coast Dental
Pushy, dishonest employees, lies about bills/treatment and giving false information about price

On 11/18 I went to this dental office for the first time because I had to change due to my new HMO insurance. It was an "emergency" visit because my front tooth chipped and needed to be fixed. I called them and got an appointment next day. I went to get a "first visit" X ray done and the nurse took some shoots then the doctor checked all my teeth. The were concentrating on my bridges that i had no problem with and blamed the previous dentist how bad work did he do.

Well, I had absolutelly no problem with that bridge since 6 years, no pain, nothing. I told them i need this chip tooth to be fixed thats why i am here for. They set up a treatment plan that was nearly $5,000 and they urged me to start as soon as possible. The dentist even took "jokes" that its going to be less for me still to get it done there then flying back to europe, because i am from europe.

I told them that I did not intend to travel but if i would that is my business. They told me that i have to do a deep cleaning right away and I know my insurance (HMO delta care) pays everything so they told me that it is $160 i said thats ok because i have insurance but they did not say that this is something that you gotta pay regardless. I did not care about prices since i have insurance.

So i did my cleaning and the assistant nurse came and while the woman called Dominique did my cleaning he asked me to leave a deposit for the next appointment. I was in the chair could not even talk, was so disrespectful. Dominque was talking non stop about the electric toothbrush to get it as soon as possible and she did not stop. I told them i will think about it but she kept going. At the end before i left the cashier asked if i want to pay with a credit card, and i asked for what? She said for my cleaning...

I said something is not right and i told her i am not going to pay for anything because i have free cleaning and X-Ray. She said this cleaning is not covered by my insurance. And she also said that one of my X ray also not paid by my insurance so i have to pay today about $170. I told her i am not going to, so the cashier "rudely" took the mouthwash that Dominique gave me and she goes "Then give me back this mouthwash and now you owe $151".. I said i cant.

She said then she will "bill" it for me so i dont have to pay now. I said ok because i will talk to my insurance. THe cashier's name was "Katie".. So i came home and talked to "Michelle" at Delta Care and she said that everything should be covered under my plan. So i called them next day and i told them and happened to be Katie again. She goes I had to get the deep cleaning because i have gingivitis. I said, oh really?

Its interesting because the doctor did not say a world about that. She said yes i had and they will not do anything to me unless that is done! So finally my bill finalized at a ridiculusly $121 dollars that i paid for them and i went back on 12/12,3 weeks later to get the chipped tooth done that actually counts two because two teeth got damaged which i understand.

So i went on 12/12 and i asked at the front desk that how much i am going to pay? She said " I dont know, depends what teeth will be filled".. So she was not telling me anything, so they called me in after 1 hour wait with appointment and the assistant Marvin said that are we going to do the front teeth? I said yes, so the doctor came in and gave me the shot and then he comes back and tells me that i have to pay $320 for the filling NOW.

I said, Excuse me? He said that the insurance is not paying too much for small "stuff" but pays more for the major work. I said oh really. (sounded Bogus, which it is).. So i was about ready and basically it was so embarassing because i did not expect to pay this much. My insurance pays the 80% of the filling/per teeth means that one filling has to be $800 to have a $160/tooth charge which is a lie. He said that this is the correct amount and they have the contract with the insurance.

I told him i can only pay the half, thats all. He said that is not going to work. So he called the rude cashier who said that she needs the remaining money today! I said i will bring in. So they did my fillings and they told me that that is going to be a weak filling and its going the be pass Xmas but i really need a crown. The dentist doctor is allright but he is part of the "illusion", they were disrespectful in any manner, i was literalry being "stupid" and i did not understand what is going on!

After the filling I asked the cashier "how much is the filling per tooth WITHOUT insurance"? She said about $320 that cant be the truth since my insurance covers 80% of it. I will call Delta Care on monday to confirm with them and file a complain wirth this place. I basically paid them off this balance and struggling to pay my car payment.

They are hiding things and BE VERY CAREFUL, because as soon as you get in you will feel the push, you will feel that you are not a client but a "product" for them to make money off you! This location is in Metrowest and i know if any of these employees reading this they know who i am and also know that they are bogus and I try to help to prevent this for new clients! Peace!
