At 8pm on September 10, I entered the Walgreens at 1420 Stone Drive in Kingsport TN. I had my sick 16 month old since we had just come from the doctor and needed to get him some over the counter medication. When I arrived at the pahrmacy there were 3 people waiting in line and at least 4 pharmacy technicians milling around. 1 at the drive through window and two behind the counter.
There was 1 pharm. Tech in particular, Jared, who was chatting with a young woman. He proceeded to chat with her for at least ten minutes; talking about being married for 9 months and having a kid and school and then looking at pictures on a cell phone... All the while 4 customers are standing there waiting to be served.
When he finally finished his conversation he rushed to get through the locked pharmacy door and then he didn't help any of us satnding there. Actually he didn't even acknowledge that we were standing there, none of them did. Andrew walked by several times, as did Tanaya. None of these people stated that "they would be with us in a minute" or apologized for our long wait.By this time it was 8:17pm. I am still standing there with a sick toddler waiting to be served.
I finally asked if any of them were going to help us, Jared answered we will be with you in a minute. I asked to speak to the Pahrmacy manager, Andrew replied he was not there. I asked for a phone number or contact name, Jared stated very rudely I could call 1-800-walgreens. Tanaya rolled her eyes as I was looking right at her. I was fuming by this time, but needed to medicine I had been waiting 25 minutes to get. I informed them I would be calling 1-800-Walgreens. I asked for there names. Jared gave me his name, but the other two did not, but lucky for them I can read.
I have never been so upset, I could not believe the disrespect I and another customer recieved. This particular Walgreens is NOT your friendly, neighborhood phramacy. These college students that Walgreens hires as pharmacy technicians need to learn that customer service is still a very important part of their job. I sincerely hope that Walgreens addresses this with these 3 particular pharmacy technicians, Jared in particular. I have already spoken to the store manager but that did not leave me feeling like anything was going to be done. I did call 1-800-walgreens and I will continue to voice my discontent with this particular walgreens in every forum I can.
