Unfair practices for cancelation of membership/member services not up front with what information is needed so they can keep deducting from your checking account. Rayton utah

Have had my membership for years, and when I signed up wanted to know if I had surgery or moved that it would not be a problem. My membership was for my numberous medical conditions.

Well I had called the end of May to explain that we sold our house and are moving out to Buena Vista Virginia. They have no location for American Family Fitness out there.

I called American Family fitness and was told to call National Fitness Fianancial which I did. I was told to call them back as soon as I had my new address and I would not have a problem to cancel.

Well, that was not true. I called when I did have our new address and was told I had to write a letter and indicate the new address along with my membership number. I said that's it and was told yes that was it.

Last thursday I was called on my cell phone and was told they could not cancel until they had another letter saying not to take out of my checking account and the account number along with a copy of the sale of our house, rental agreement, or car insurance with the new address on it.

I was very upset with the member service person at this point and wanted to speak to a supervisor and was giving Jasmine ID2222 she said to put on the cover sheet of the fax. I asked her what part of the insurance information did she need and she said the whole decloration. I was very upset that they would have all our information. Along with that fact that she said they would be taking out for my membership for July also because it has to be received within 30 days.

I told her that I had started on this in May and every time I talk with them they want me to jump threw and other hoop and prolong them being able to take out of my checking account.

I explained to them that we have to also change our checking accounts to another bank etc. And this is not helping us at this point. I did fax Jamine all information on Friday and she told me that it take 3 -5 business days to process a fax etc.

I do not want them to take out of my account to July. I feel this is very unfair.

Today 6/35 I went to membership at American Family Fitness and sat there for several minutes before someone helped me along with them taking my information and going to management and coming back and telling me there is nothing they can do.

I think these are very unfair practices for this club and financial instituate to be able to get by with this practice. I wonder how many other people have had to go through the same thing.

I would like to have this nightmare over with and get them out of my checking account. My husband are retiring and on a fixed income. Any help would be appriciated.
