Lipozap Scam. MedAesthetica lied about refund policy, failed to render procedures, and did not return calls

On December 7, I went to the MedAesthetica clinic in Sherman Oaks, CA, for my free consultation. Upon arriving, the receptionist asked me to fill out some information on a computer tablet. The tablet was malfunctioning and did not allow me to proceed past the first page. The consultant then came into the waiting area and asked that I step into her office to go over the procedure. The receptionist said that I could go over the paperwork after the consultation.

The consultation took longer than I thought it would. After an hour there, I indicated that I had to leave in order to get to a funeral. I did not end up having the time to go back to the receptionist to complete the paperwork.

While I was at the funeral, a MedAesthetica consultant was calling me to set up appointment dates for the procedures. Obviously I did not answer while at the funeral. The following day, December8, I received another call while I was at work. I told the consultant that I would call her back in about one hour after she told me that she would be there four about four more hours. I called back in one hour and left her a message because she did not answer the phone. I then left three more messages the following week and never received a call back.

On December 18, I called the clinic to indicate that I wanted to cancel because I was not getting any calls back in reference to the procedure. This was within the 10 business day refund policy that the consultant verbally told me about in the initial consultation. The representative said that it was not a problem and that I only needed to fill out a form that she emailed me while we were talking on the phone. I returned the form to her approximately 5 minutes after receiving it.

On December 26, I emailed the same representative to inquire about my refund. She indicated that it would take about 6 to 8 weeks from the date that I sent her the form which was December 18.

After 8 weeks had passed, I called again and was told that I should be receiving my refund soon. After 10 weeks I called four times and left messages each time. I never received a response to any of my messages.

On March 4, I spoke with a receptionist and she also told me that it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to receive a refund. I told her that it had already been 11 weeks and wanted to talk to someone about this issue or I would be seeking legal action.

Approximately one hour later, I received a call from another consultant and she indicated that there was no refund policy and that I had in fact signed such a policy and was given a copy. I informed her that I could not possibly have signed it because I did not even get a chance to fill out the paper work and therefore did not receive a copy. She sent me copies of the paperwork that she claims I signed. I told her that I didn't even use paper; I had tried to use the tablet which ended up malfunctioning. She simply replied by email and said "A lot of medical offices are now using tablets, it's easier to keep track of client files this way.

Just because it was signed on tablet doesn't mean it's NOT a legal document or that it's not you signature." I told her that the only thing I signed was
the "Consultation Summary Sheet" which has no refund policy on it. I also explained that the signatures don't even match. They do look similar but anyone can see that they're not the same.

The consultant said that no refund was allowed and that I would only receive credit toward future procedures. I told her that I would not possibly want future procedures because there is no way to prove that I wouldn't be treated so poorly again. I also explained to her that it's obvious they're up to no good when 3 other representatives all told me that refunds are given after 6 to 8 weeks and now all of a sudden they say that I signed paperwork indicating that there is no refund.

I also went as far as getting a hold of the consultant that I originally talked to in December. She told me that she no longer works there due to the unethical practices taking place at MedAesthetica. She then suggested I file a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau, which I was in the process of doing when she made the suggestion.

Be careful not to sign anything to include just signing the "Consultation Summary Sheet" which does not indicate a refund policy. I have kept names of who I was dealing with and suggest you do too if you dare use this company.
