In my case, I had my free consultation with MedAesthetica on May 03.
I am not really fat (108 LBS), only needed to tighten my lower abdomen and inner thigh. They told me that this procedure is perfect for me and I will archive great results. So I paid the total cost of $2850 for 8 treatments: 4 times of 2 places (Lower abdomen & inner thigh).
When I asked MedAesthetica about their refund policy I have been told that off course they will refund 4/1, if I would stop for example the treatment after the 3rd treatment.
After the 3rd treatment, I decided to cancel my last treatment because of insufficient results and some medical complications and called MedAesthetica beginning of August.
They said somebody will contact me within 1 week. Nobody called me! So I called again, then I received the same answer.
After the second attempt, on 08/15 my husband called them for me; insisted to talk to account payable person.
This time they faxed finally the 'Release of All Claims' form in the amount of $712.50. I faxed the signed release form to MedAesthetica the next day. My husband was told that the refund will be credited to my credit card account in 2 weeks.
No refund was made by middle of September; so my husband called them again and also I sent an-mail asking for my refund status.
On September 25, I received an e-mail from the Medical Group's Review Committee at MedAesthetica. The e-mail said that $712.50 was calculated incorrectly. The refund amount of $712.50 has been communicated twice over the phone with them and also stated in the 'Release of All Claims' form before.
MedAesthetica was suddenly deducting the following items from my initial refund of $712.50:
Medical Evaluation performed at time of Consultation, LipoZap Test Shot perfomed on May 03, Compression Garment, Supplements provided (Arnica & Bromelain) all in the amount of $500.00.
The medical evaluation consultation, medical test procedure, additional supplements if necessary and compression garments are complementary. MedAesthetica said because I stopped my treatment, they have to charge me for these items.
After two more e-mail responses from the Medical Group Review Committee (whoever is hiding behind this structure) we still haven't found a positive solution for the refund dispute.
The company MedAesthetica never addressed the fact that before, during and after my treatment sessions there was never such a company refund policy in place and discussed with me. Additionally, I was also never provided a refund policy and therefore never signed such a 'RIP-OFF refund policy.
In my latest correspondence (10/02) to the President of MedAesthetica, I have made clear that this is definitely not only a money dispute, much more a principal issue.
Independent of the outcome of my refund I wanted to make sure that such a refund policy of MedAesthetica will be made public and everybody who is dealing with this company should be more than warned.
I can strongly emphasis the statement of Maria who filled a consumer complaints about this company a couple of days earlier.
This company is a total RIP OFF and SCAMS! BEWARE!
