Messed up my 3-yr pre-paid membership, unable to fix it, nor will refund my money

When I joined the club in 10/06 I prepaid for 2 months, first and last.in 7/07 I switched to a 3 year prepaid membership and was assured that the previous one will be cancelled and prorated. It wasn't, they kept charging my checking account. After two hours with their customer service in Latin America, I was able to get an agreement from the supervisor, promising me the complete return. I got partial, they would not refund the last months payment. They're just incapable of understanding! It's like talking to zombies! $43 were not worth my aggravation, so I forgot about it.

Then in October (3 months into my 3 year term), I was stopped at the registration and told that my membership has expired! I had to go home, find the contract, and take it to them. Then we proceeded with phone calls telling me that it was fixed, I'd go there to pick it up, only to find out that the person who called wasn't there and nobody knew what was going on! After numerous calls and 5 (FIVE) visits and total and utter confusion and ignorance NOTHING! I was nearing a nervous breakdown! Calls to the management were unanswered, they were never available. I could never get the same person on the phone! I threatened to sue, I begged to cancel and get the refund. NOTHING! I sent a letter to their corporate office in Carlsbad, sent them e-mails. No responses! Finally went to the Irvine club, talked to the sales manager there and he seemed to get thought their corporate brain stupor. I got 3 cards mailed to me after 2 months, and they actually worked. For a month!

Yesterday, I had my card confiscated by some snot-face, telling me that the membership is cancelled and I was refunded the money. He couldn't tell me how the money was refunded or when it was refunded". I never received any communications regarding cancellation.in fact, in round one I begged them to cancel, they wouldn't. They said, they "don't do cancellations." I never received the refund, none of my cards had any credits from them. Fearing of getting a heart attack, I had to leave. Now I'm seriously considering a class-action suite. I think they should pay through their noses for messing with people's nerves and money! Anybody's interested?
