Healthnet online calls claiming to be a government agency offering federal grants

An agent with this company called me claiming to be a federal government agent with the Federal Grants Department. Since I live pay check to pay check I was skeptical but welcomed the extra funds.

The gentlemen that called already had all of my information and when he recapped the phone call he stated 2 times that the 29.95 fee did not apply to me and that the grant money would be in my account in 24 hours. I called the 866-407-1029 as soon as I hung up the phone with him because like I stated I was skeptical. The office of course was closed.

I called the very next day and was told by the company they did not show me as having an account with them and I would have to call back 3 days later on a Monday (of course they are not in on weekends).

I called that following monday and they stated they still did not show me as having an account and to call back 2 more days later. On 09/24/07 they deducted the 29.95 out of my checking account and I called and of course they had record of me having an account then.

After several attempts I was put through to a supervisor (not sure if she really was or not) and I advised her I wanted the 29.95 put back in my account and that not another dime was to be deducted from my account. I was told that I could not cancel because I had not yet received a welcome package.

I advised the agent that I wanted to speak with a higher up and she refused to give me information to contact the corporate office.

On 10/10/07 the company deducted ANOTHER 299.95 out of my account and are refusing to put the money back in my account. They overdrew my bank account by 411.00 when they deducted the 299.95. I of course started calling immediately to the company but my requests have fallen on deaf ears.

They said my request for refund from corporate was denied and they are still refusing to refund my money. I have filed a dispute with my bank to get those funds placed back into my account. I made over 5 phone calls on 10/12/07 and even made the last phone call w / my father listening in on the call. I was told by the agent that she had noted I called on 09/24/07 to cancel the account but that I could not do so because of the no welcome letter issue.

So the bottom line is they were aware on 09/24/07 that I wanted the account cancelled and deducted 299.95 out of my account anyways 15 days later. I even tracked down a supervisor's name Julie Louis after researching online.
I called again to speak to her and the agent told me they were not allowed to transfer calls to her and not allowed to give out corporate contact information. I would love more than anything to take this company and the individuals that work there down. As far as I am concerned the minute the man that called me identified himself as a federal agent that became a felony itself.

Also I have asked repeatedly to listen to the recorded phone calls I have had with the company. I work in a business that I know for a fact when you request recorded phone calls they have to let you listen to those calls and they are refusing that to me as well. Please feel free to contact me if any information is needed for this. I would love to be a part of shutting these people down.
