On June 9 I called this pharmacy requesting they remove any prescriptions I had to pay out of pocket for as I only had ninety-one cents in my account. At that time the person I spoke with said there shouldn't be any problem in doing this.
Yet they charged my debit card $31.00, thus overdrafting the account. They also shipped those prescriptions placed on my debit card.
The pharmacy's manager (at BioScrip) was extremely apologetic when I pointed out the debit card number was on file as a matter of convenience, not carte blanche permission from me.
Anyhow, They did charge back the $31.00. However, they did not charge back the $30.00 overdraft fee, nor the three days of "continuing overdraft fees" of $5.00 per day. Thus, this created a hardship on me, as I live on a disability income of $603.00 per month. That $45.00 really hurts. And I feel the pharmacy should have replaced those fees imposed by my bank as I had not authorized the charge in the first place.
Moral of story: don't trust anyone to keep your card number (s) on file.
