A free trial was offered for weight loss supplement. Upon speaking with the customer service representative, she took my information for the trial offer. After taking down the information, she said I would be billed for the diet pills automatically. I refused this offer, told her to cancel the order. She placed her supervisor on the phone. I explained to him that I was not interested in being placed on automatic billing and was only requesting the free trial. He confirmed that I would receive the trial offer only.
The trial pills came in the mail, I decided they were ineffective and was no longer interested. To my amazement, about ten days after receiving the first bottle, another bottle came in the mail and I realized my credit card had been billed for $79.90!
I called the credit card company saying the charge was unauthorized. I have to go through a dispute process to have any future charges stopped. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact the company and have only gotten a recording. The company has never responded. The billing office is located in the Caribbean. This is a rip off! I have no intentions paying it and want to advise others to not respond to these ads. Does anyone have suggestions for how to handle this situation?
