I, too, fell victim to this scam, before I found this web-site, and started getting monthly bills on my credit card. However, I do not get mad... I get even.
After talking to the Cigarrest Customer Service, which was a total waste of time, I took the following actions.
1. I filed a report with the San Diego BBB, and got a lengthy report back from them on the shady dealings of this company. Cigarrest would not answer the BBB.
2. I filed a fraud report with my states Attorney General.
3. I contacted the Vista, CA Chamber of Commerce and gave them the full details, which they referred to the Vista, CA., District Attorney.
4. I filed a dispute with my Visa account, and as of this writing, I have received a credit of $199.70 to my credit card.
I have not been contacted by Cigarrest, or any of their representatives, so it is obvious that they realize that they are running a scam, and will refund your money if you complain long and loud enough. If the Vista DA, and or my state Attorney General decides to pursue this, I will be willing to participate in any action which closes the doors on this fraudulent business.
