They claim I owe them money for a doctor visit on 2/16 for my daughter's mouth guard. As you know, you cannot take a mouth guard unless it is paid in full. Our insurance plan stated clearly on the EOB that it did not cover the mouth guard. When we went to the visit, the nurse said that they called the insurance and it was not covered. I also called and was told the same information. On 1/23 they measured my daughter for her mouth guard. I asked the billing department how much it would cost me, and the cost given to me was $360.00. On 01/23 I gave a credit card payment of $180.50, and on the return visit to pick up the mouth guard I paid the balance due of $180.50. Now I get collection letters asking for a balance of $302.40.

I called the dental insurance and the office of Dr. M.J. Leahy on a three-way conference. The dental insurance told the billing department they cannot charge me more money after they know that the EOB stated it is not covered by them. The insurance mentioned that you gave her a price of $361.00.
This is so frustrating. The billing department is threatening to send it to a collection agency.
