Today I went to Target on Forest Avenue in Richmond, VA to purchase shelving advertised in the weekly ad inserted in the Washington Post. The helpful clerks showed me how to find the item immediately. I selected a shelve and two baskets. The baskets were above a price indicating $5.49 per basket; however, at check out the baskets rung up @ $14.99 per basket. The check out person surmised that the baskets had been incorrectely placed over the price but since neither basket had a price on it, I had no way of confirming this.

I asked to see the manager who happened to be the check out person. She again surmised that the baskets were incorrectly placed over the price. I was not at all pleased with this experience since in tough economic times prices should be clearly marked on the items so we can make good decisions. And to have the baskets cost three times what I had supposed they to cost based on the fact they were placed over that price. And, there was nothing to indicate a price of $14.99 ANYWHERE.

I will not be shopping a stores that make such decisions as this. No price until you get to check out and then a huge differential from what it looked like the amount was before proceeding to check out.
