Ripoff extremely rude! Put you on hold and then blame you for taking his time on the phone?!? Selling shady products, false advertising, refurb as new! Watch out!

Oct. 12th 2004 I bought a BENQ PB6200 DLP Projector here

SAME OWNER A&M Photoworld (www.amphotoworld.com) and Broadway Photo (www.bwayphoto.com)

Price ad shown $1079 and as their website states the product is in stock!

Same day an email was received saying that a call should be made for verification. #1.800.840.7568 ext 773.
The person on this ext. Is called PAUL and after telling me that he was the owner he asked me if THE PHONE CALL WAS BEEING RECORDED. After I said "of course not", PAUL then started mass selling extra equipment for this projector using the excuse that he knew that I would send back the product if I didn't buy the extra package (Power cable, bulbs and linse) for $300 bacause the quality of the bulb (standard) was very, and I quote "weak". And there would be NO warranty if I didn't buy the extra package. I thank him, but no thanks. He then got very very rude, saying that I would not know a good price if I saw one!? He then put me on hold for 10 minutes.

When he picked up the phone again he said, I quote "Can I help you?". I then told him that he put me on hold 10 minutes ago and that I was expecting to be helped in a proper way and that I only wanted what I bought online. I then asked him about warranty again and he cut me off by putting me on hold! He picked up the phone again and then told me to stop asking questions about the product if I didn't wanted the $300 deal with it and that I had WASTED 15 minutes of his time so far?!?!??!? My guess is that they only get paid on the extra stuff they try to sell you!

After telling me that I had WASTED he's time, he told me that he would cancel my order, completely out of the blue... And then he hung up!!?!??!?

What is this? I buy products of the web all the time and this is the most shady company I have ever delt with. Even their business and marketing standards are against the law (Checked it). I have now asked around and it turns out that over 90% of the people who bought products from them is either NOT satisfied with the product or the service and 86% would never do business with them again (Remember I only asked 60 people).

It is not difficult beeing the cheapest on the web if everything is just pictures and talk and if you cheat your customers. They even charge you a fee when they cancel your order??!?

I am thinking about taking this to the next level!
