We have a 12 year old Kitchenaid refrigerator that was freezing some items. I researched appliance repair companies on the internet and landed on Nations Appliance aka Quality Appliance. They were offering a 20% off coupon for repair work. I called and subsequently received a call back from a local repairman who told me that he had 20 years experience in appliance repair and was contracting through Nation's Appliance who is national. The repairman diagnosed my problem over the phone and based on the model number, assured me that he could order the required part and install it. 2 weeks later, he arrived to install the part. It was a thermistor, which took him all of 10 minutes to install. He told me that the part had a special 'chip' in it and cost $109. I received a 20% off on the labor for a total of $149. I checked with Kitchenaid and discovered that the part he installed cost $29.95. The refrigerator stopped freezing stuff, but I would not recommend calling this company if you need a quick response, or if you are budget conscious.
