Sold a no good tv

I got a 40 inch polaroid tv. Payed 800.00 dollars it didnt a year and a half. Now when i turn it on it smells and got a foot lone black line going thew the middle screen and getting bigger all the time. I have talked to them they said to buy a new one ha ha. I cant afford to buy a new one now that i spent 800.00 on theres.
