I purchased a 40GB harddrive last year and six months later it became defective. Western Digital shipped me a replacement. While waiting for the replacement, I put another harddrive in its place. When I received the replacement, I left it unopened in its packaging because I didn't need to use it.
Well, six months went by before I had a need to use the drive and what to my amazement I find that the drive while labelled as a 40 GB is really a 20 GB. Since this is deception, I called expecting that they will make good on THEIR mistake. HA! Forget the fact they screwed me... Too much time has passed to make good on THEIR error! I guess Western Digital hasn't got the time or the money to give reasonable customer satisfaction.
If anyone out there plans to purchase a harddrive... Don't buy Western Digital! I don't feel time is the issue here; the issue is that they gave me a cheaper replacement for the one I originally purchased and labelled it as 40 gigabyte when truthfully it was a 20!
