I went to a Radio Shack in Knoxville TN. To buy some blank CDs. The sales person discouraged me from buying a 50 pack of blanks because they were offering a rebate on the $9.99 25 packs ($7.50 per pack).
I took the deal and mailed off the rebate for the two packs. I recently received a postcard from the Radio Shack rebate company stating that they would only honor one rebate because the terms and conditions stated that they could only issue one rebate per household. (Contradicting what the salesperson encouraged me to do.)
I called Radio Shack's Rebate company and they honored the second rebate citing the terms and conditions. They did so in a very cold and scripted fashion making me beleive that this happens often. There was no mention that it could have been a mistake made by the store. This was only $7.50, But I think that I was mislead to think that I would get two rebates so I would purchase more items.
I plan to spread the word about the deceptive practices at Radio Shack!
