Bosch dishwasher model number SHV46C13UC.
The dishwasher breaks, and I contact an Authorized Service Contractor in my area. The control panel (part #676967) is faulty and needs replacement.
The good news is that this is under warranty (the part, but not the labor to fix it). The bad news is that the contractor is repeatedly told that the part is back ordered (starting on 2/25).
Finally I call Bosch myself 3/9. Yes, the part is backordered. No, it will not be available for at least 3 more weeks. No, there is nothing they can do.
The obvious suspicion is that the part is faulty in many dishwashers, not just mine, and hence is not available. Bosch should stand behind its products, especially as the part is still under warranty, and at a minimum should have offered to repair it at no cost.
