Electronics Ripoff Non-warranty worthless warranty

I bought a Daewoo dvd-vcr combo in mid January and the remote stopped working the second week of March. I contacted them and was informed that the remote is considered an accessory and not covered by the warranty. They suggested that I contact their parts department to purchase a new one. There is no link on their home page or listing on the web for a parts department!

They also offered to repair it for a flat $15 if I sent it in. I was able to purchase a new one from Partsolver for $11.55 so the offer seemed to be another ripoff.
