Beware of contract scam

Knowing my contract was up in November of I got another bill from Verizon for $102. Figuring I forgot to make my last payment, I sent in the $102. THEN I got another bill for $59 and just assuming they sent the bill in error, I called to remind them that my contract expired in November.

Without resolving anything with the representative after waiting 25 minutes on hold to speak with her, I asked to speak with a manager. "Anitra" got on the line and told me I was suppose to call Verizon to cancel my contract in November or I would continue being charged month to month. I told her I wasnt aware that it is not my responsibility to call when my contract was specifically up in November. So I was responsible for paying the additional $102 and the $52 for no reason.

I HAVE NEVER dealt with any such company that makes the client call in to cancel, even when the contract was up in November anyways. To me, this is another way for them to take money from me and I dont want this to happen to anyone else. Anitra was rude, immediately defensive, and her speech was straight out of the ghetto. I would never expect this kind of treatment and unprofessionalism from a so-called "manager" with such a large company like Verizon.
