Since I Never Had this Problem before took the option of looking through the Yellow Pages and selected a brightly colored ad for Home TV Repair. That was my frist mistake, 2 servicemen came out removed my set from the wall unit placed it on the floor face down, opened this huge tool box, ut oh, don't have the right tool to take off the back. "Sir, think it's the high voltage something or other and we have to take it in for bench testing, by the way that will be $100.00"
That was 11/05/03 and as they were leaving in an unmarked van, we will call you this afternoon with an estimate. That call never came. Since that time I have made several calls and each time given a weak exscuse or "let me check and I will call you right back" I did ask how long have they been in business, "Since 1960" oh really do you still have sets waiting for service from then"? This set is only 2 years old, of course out of warranty but I find it extremely hard to believe that parts are not available. Any suggestions?
