Audio Webb International Stereo Speaker
Audio Webb International Ripoff sale of DPA SLT 2.8 speakers Salt Lake City Utah and La Palma

I fell for the stupid sales pitch like everyone else. Some guy (About 6'3", light redish/brown hair w / long pony tail, about 250 pounds) driving a white minivan, pulled up to me in a parking lot in West Haven, Utah, and asked me if I wanted some speakers. I abruptley said no, but he continued to ramble on and sold me this story that he had to make a pick up for his boss, and that the company and incorrectly shipped and so his boss told him he could keep them (claiming that his boss was rich and didn't need the money), or share them with his co-workers.

He pulled out his stupid brochures, which showed the speakers (DPA-SLT 2.8 Slim Line Tower) retailing at 1,995.00. He had a number of "fake" brochures, which made it look very professional. He also had a "great" delivery pickup invioce that made the whole story even more believable. The quantity of speakers in the back also provided a valid excuse that he could be a pick-up boy for some company.

I should've known when he asked for beer money on top of the sale, it could only be a scam. Now that I think of it, at first he said he was from Denver, Colorado, and then later he said he was from Park City. However, I was only thinking about the "great deal" I was about to get and didn't pay attention to the details of his story, unitl I read the "consumer complaints" and ran the scenerio through my head a 100 times.

I paid a $100 dollars for a speaker, but at least I have a speaker, but the quality is now questionable, however they sound okay.

I was an idiot to fall for it and will be the first to admit it. While I'm glad I spend what he was asking for this stupid purchase, it is a lessoned learned. "If something seems to good to be true, it isn't true!" "Fools and their money soon part!"

Hopefully the next person will be a bit more cautious and catch these losers. Yea, I'm mad and that is why I spent my time reporting this stupid hoax. If I see this guy again, he'll be making his sales pitch to a police officer.
