Because of the information contained on the Tracfone Website, specifically the home territory & roaming map which is shown once you type in your zip to see if service is available in your area, I dropped my other carrier and switched to Tracfone.
It even showed me the phone's compatible with my territory. I purchased the suggested phone and activated it. Only to learn that my non-roaming home territory was actually ONLY the city limits of the town (zip code) I resided in. Once outside my zip code, the phone roams eating up 2 units INSTEAD of 1 unit.
Repeated calls asking for my service to meet the terms of the website's reported home territory for my tracfone were futile. They told me that the website only means you have service in that area (the website clearly says bright yellow is home, non roaming and pale yellow is coverage with roaming) and that once you are outside your town you roam, plain and simple. Their website NEEDS to BE CHANGED to reflect their actual service provided. They almost laughed at me for believing the website. I switched to them because of the coverage I believed I would recieve with them. The participate actively and openly in FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.
