Verizon cell phone service Cancellation fee RIPOFF, this is how they say goodbye to you

Watch out if you want to cancel your cell phone service with Verizon Wireless.

If you want to cancel your cell phone plan you will be charged the monthly fees until the end of the billing cycle.

For example if you cancel on the 1st of the month and your billing cycle end on the 28th, you will owe them the fees on the entire month, no pro ration.

So in other words you will be better off cancelling on the day of the end of your billing cycle.

They will not tell you this when you call in to cancel, I believe this was a policy change effective Dec. I was not notified of this change in my bills either.

Sounds like a sneaky way to get another months fees from you. I don't think it right to charge you for service they know you will not be using.
