The Google droid smartphone doesn't do basic things like voice dialing by using the answer/voicedial button on bluetooth headsets.
Voice Dialing from the headset is a basic feature that has been on cellphones since bluetooth came out. "Free" cellphones have this basic feature. It is legally required while driving to use this in some states, but the Droid can not do this. Verizon has promised over the last four months that this feature would become available, but it has not. Google has not addressed this issue. This is the highest reported complaint from the google webpage to report bugs with over 2700 people have complained about this in two bug reports since November, but the status is listed as new, meaning nobody is working on it, and the priority is set to medium.

By way of comparison copy and paste being clumsy or the snooze button on the alarm clock being simmilar to the dismiss button is has made it to being assigned a programmer for resolution.
The bottom line here is that this phone is not even close to mature, and it appears that the 1.6 version (Droid HTC etc...) handsets are not going to be completed, as google has moved on to other things like the Nexus 1 (Which is reported to not do it either!) Avoid this phone get a Blackberry or Windows Mobile based phone.
