Ok, so 35 bucks a month for unlimited talk and text cell phone service sounds pretty good right? Let me tell you... It's not! I recently went online to purchase a phone and service throught Cricket Wireless (www.mycricket.com), and had a week from hell!
So the phone came very quickly, within two days with free standard shipping. But when I opened it and tried to activate it via the instructions provided... Nothing happened. Ok no biggie right... Call the company...
It took me three or four tries to actually get through to a human being, who's english was so deplorable, that I could barely understand her. But she did attempt to walk me through the manual activation process. But of course that did not work either.
So then it was off to technical support... However, in mid-conversation with this woman, she decides to cut off the call... No warning, no nothing... Just hung-up on me. Trying to call back would have just caused more grey hairs, so I looked up the nearest Cricket Wireless Retail Store.
Now I'm driving about 20 minutes out of my way to get to this store... Where once again they don't speak english!!! In fact they actually put me on the phone with a spanish speaking representative... Duh!!! Anyway about a half-hour later they finally got the phone activated, finally right??? Not even close.
On the way back home... The signal cuts out. That's right, the idiots sold me a phone and claimed they had service in my area... But guess what, THEY DIDN'T!!!
So I'm back on the phone with Cricket Wireless customer service... Which is a nightmare. Now I'm to the point where I just want to return the stupid thing, cancel the plan and get my money back. Well trying to explain this to yet another non-english speaking representative is frustrating enough to make a saint commit murder.
The man actually asked me what area code I wanted to make the service work in my area... I'm sorry aren't you the wireless company... Shouldn't you know what area code I need in my home area???
Finally I got the man to tell me what I need to do to return the thing and get my money back. But we'll see what happens when I actually get BACK down to that store!
Word of warning people... Stay away from cricket wireless!!!
