I was a victim of the JB Mills Wholesale, Inc scam. There are several reports on the complaint website already from the middlemen sellers who were ripped off. I was one of the customers. On Oct 20th we ordered through eBay a JVC video camera for $2850 from a reputable and experienced eBay seller. We did not know where the camera he was selling was coming from - he just told us he was a reseller for a drop ship company. After we paid him through paypal, our credit card was charged and he informed us we'd get a shipping number shortly. It took over a week to get a shipping number, and it was fraudulent. The seller attempted himself to track down an accurate shipping number, and each one showed up as "no record" with FEDEX or UPS. Finally one showed up that UPS did show as legitimate, however it was for a box that weighed 1 pound. That box arrived on Nov 5th with a photocopy picture of the camera we ordered and a memo from JB Mills with the contact name of Mr. Ronald Baxter, stating that this was box one of two.interestingly the return address on the box is in Columbus OH, while the company itself is in Ontario Canada. There is no other box in transit according to any of the shipping tracking numbers. This is similar to other reports we've seen of the same scam. JB Mills however has a seemingly legitimate web site, and a professional sounding answering service at their toll free number, 1-800-925-7248. This is a very elaborate scam that appears to just be kicking off, and I'd be interested to know how something like this gets reported to authorities to get it shut down. I would imagine the international nature of this with JB Mills being based in Canada poses a problem, but I'm willing to write statements or send evidence to any officials who can act on this. I have filed a claim through paypal and suspect I'll get my money back somehow, but that's not the point.
