I had put my direct tv on hold due to financial hardship. When I called Direct Tv to just cancel the service rather than reinstate it they told me that they cannot do that because of a contract. First of all I never signed a contract. They told me it did not matter. Then he told me that they would just go ahead and bill the credit card on file for any cancellation fees. I told them to remove that card number and they tell me they cannot do it. What can I do so that I can stop this service and not be charged for something that I never signed into.
